WE ARE BEARD
THE UNSHAVEN DESIGN HAVEN

Lists, lists… and then more lists

Things in the Beard studio are pretty busy at the moment, which is great. Although with the heavy workload comes the need for much better planning and time management, which isn’t something that comes naturally to me. Its the difference between the left and right sides of the brain – certain things just come more naturally to some people! I’ve found myself starting out making lists at the beginning of each day, working out what the priorities are and setting out a realistic workload for the day – and I tell you, there are few things as satisfying as ticking things off the list!

One of the highlights of the last week has been receiving our new business cards. We’ve pushed the boat out a little bit with them, going for a beautiful GF Smith duplexed board of bright white and pistachio. Duplexing is when two boards are bonded together, so one side of the card is one board/colour and the other side different. We then had the guys at Glasgow Press go old school and letterpress the cards in 2 colours. They have done a fantastic job and we can’t thank Dan and the team enough for their help. If you haven’t seen them, there’s a couple of shots for you to look at here in our recent work. We’d love to hear your thoughts on them – so feel free to get in touch.

In the studio at the moment we’re inundated with web work, with websites for a wide range of clients in a multitude of industries. We’ve just launched a website for local photographer Alex Sharp, which you can see here. We have gone for a simple and clean website, with all of the focus being on the imagery. We’re in the process of adding a small shop to the site too, so check back soon to see how that’s coming along! Beard have worked with Alex first hand and would highly recommend her to anybody in the Worcestershire area (and beyond) looking to improve the look of their product photography or update their employee profiles.

Beard are also racing through the build of a new website for Chris Green Media, which is looking really great already – but the look of it is still a secret until the big launch! As with the majority of Beard’s sites, its built from a WordPress platform, allowing for easy updates and maintenance.

But web isn’t the only thing going on in the studio, we have some lovely branding work going on too. The Graceful Detective is a new business providing professional training & coaching for business owners and professionals. Its a really fun brand to work on, and we’re really enjoying developing their identity and coming up with interesting marketing ideas. Again, we can’t wait to show off the work but its under wraps for now!

Other than writing lists, one of the frustrating things about having a heavy workload is not getting out in the sunshine! It’s been glorious for the last couple pf days and having to sit and look outside is almost too much to bear on occasions! The fixie hasn’t had an outing either which is a travesty at the moment!

This must improve – maybe it should go on one of the lists!
